Contrast
In this project, I used lots of contrast in size."The Wizard of OZ" was the biggest size because it's the title and the most important part of the poster. "Olathe Northwest Theatre Presents" and "7 PM November 20-22" both were medium sizes because the date and time are the next most important parts of the poster. "$8 Ticket" was a size down from the date and time. The copyright was in the fine print at the bottom because most people coming to see the show don't care all that much about who it was originally produced by.
Alignment
For the whole poster I used center alignment. In the case of this poster, it was necessary and made it look more put together and like I knew what I was doing. Center alignment makes everything line up and really look professional.
Repetition
On the poster I use a lot of repetition. The whole thing was the same font. The font repetition really gives it all a finished and professional look. Only the title was a little different because I tilted it so it lined up with the yellow brick background. The other text was all the exact same.
Proximity
I used size differences to show the use of proximity. You could easily tell what the most important things were and what was grouped with what by the sizing. The sizing clearly showed that the title was its own separate thing, the date and time were their own separate things, the contact info was separate, and all the copyright information is at the bottom in the smallest font.
